Sak Abrasives acquires Buffalo Abrasives

Buffalo Abrasives, a North Tonawanda company that makes resin bonded grinding wheels, has been acquired by an India's Sak Abrasives The fourth-generation company expects to continue manufacturing at its facility at 960 Erie Ave. Jeff Binkley, Buffalo Abrasives′ CEO, said: “We can continue to have a significant manufacturing presence in North Tonawanda, where it all began.”

Sak Abrasives, a division of Sak Industries Private Ltd., makes a wide range of industrial abrasives for the Indian and overseas markets. Buffalo Abrasives is mainly focused on customers within the oil and gas, automotive, steel and other industries in North America.

Kanika Krishna, Sak Abrasives′ COO, said in a statement: "There is considerable value in a ′Made in USA′ brand and our vision is to allow our customers across the globe the choice of products manufactured in different geographies with varying price/quality. "We now have a ′Made in India′ and ′Made in USA′ option in our product offering."
