Tata Sky has tied up with UK-based ShortsTV to launch a platform for short stories and films. The Tata Group company said its deal with the London-headquartered company is aimed at cashing in on the emerging trend of watching smaller duration movies on the go. Tata Sky ShortsTV will be available on the mobile app as well as television channel for a monthly subscription of Rs 75. “As viewing habits evolve, short films have seen a huge surge in popularity across the world, including in India. However, there hasn't been a single curated destination for the Indian consumer to watch this content, even though prominent filmmakers and actors are using this medium to tell wonderful stories,” Arun Unni, Chief Content Officer, Tata Sky, told reporters. “Tata Sky ShortsTV aims to be that destination where a curated selection of over 2,000 of the world's best short films can be enjoyed. Shorts TV has worked for more than a year to localise the proposition, with over 500 Indian short films,” he said. Tata Sky ShortsTV will feature a line-up of 2,000 premium titles.
