Japans Gojo invests $3.7mn in Aviom India Housing Finance

Aviom intends to use the funds to set-up additional branches and expand its loan portfolio.

Gojo & Company made a $3.7 million investment in its portfolio firm Aviom India Housing Finance. The Japanese firm has bought about 16 per cent stake in Aviom from Singapore based Insitor Asia Fund, raising its equity ownership to about 50 per cent.

The Delhi based start-up intends to use the funds to set-up additional branches and expand its loan portfolio. Gojo had earlier invested $5.9 million in Aviom in two tranches with the last being concluded in February this year.

Gojo's exposure to Indian companies now stands at $48.2 million, out of its total investment of $69 million across four countries including Cambodia, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka. The Japanese investor's India portfolio includes Satya MicroCapital, Ananya Finance for Inclusive Growth and Loan Frame Technologies.
